Ronald William "Ron" Howard is an American film director and producer, as well as an actor. Howard first came to prominence as an actor starring in the 1960s and 1970s films. Having retired from acting, he has directed plenty of films, including the scandalous blockbuster The Da Vinci Code, and its loud sequel, Angels & Demons. The movie is based on the book written by Dan Brown, the author of The Da Vinci Code that made the mankind split into two groups: its supporters and opponents, inclusive of the Church. Although The Da Vinci Code was forbidden in plenty of countries, a large number of people worldwide have viewed the film. The film Angels & Demons re-starts to describe the rivalry between the Church and scientific knowledge demonstrated in The Da Vinci Code. The plot of the film Angels & Demons features the intentions of Harvard University historian and iconologist Robert Langdon to unveil the mysteries of a secret society called the Illuminati. The Roman Catholic Church, particularly the Vatican, faces a crisis when the principal four cardinals to substitute the deceased Pope are abducted by the Illuminati that adhere to scientific knowledge. The Church is promised that each cardinal will be put to death one per hour starting at 8 pm, culminating with a detonation of an antimatter bomb underneath St Peter's Cathedral sharp at midnight ruining the Vatican. To face down this nasty jeopady, the Church hires historian and iconologist Robert Langdon played by Tom Hanks who is knowledgeable about the powerful secret society. He has to begin the investigation promptly, racing against time to find the abducted cardinals by deciphering symbols. Robert Langton together with scientist Vittoria tries to reveal the mysterious decease of the Pontiff and save the humanity. The views of Rome in the film are magnificent and breathtaking. The watcher has an opportunity to walk around Rome and see the most prominent architectural and cultural masterpieces together with the characters. The movie does well to engage interest through its explanations of historical events and the inner organisation of the Vatican. The plot keeps the viewer engaged and interested up to the end of the movie. The story unfolds with extraordinary twists and turns that leave the watcher excited.
