| Radio-controlled trucks, or RC cars as they are commonly named, are a fun pastime both for kids and adult people. Their operation is based on a system of remote control. Another kind of remote control trucks is wire connection ones, but RC trucks are more popular. RC trucks are usually divided into 2 groups: toy model trucks designed for children and hobby-grade version which is designed for juveniles and adult people.
These two versions of radio controlled trucks are different, but still have something in common. They both constitute replicas of real-life trucks and are controlled via radio control. But there're some distinguishing differences between these two models. Firstly, a toy variant is a solid plastic representation of the car when at the same time the hobby-grade model is very close to a real life vehicle in relation to outward appearance and individual parts. The hobby-grade models are constructed in the same manner as a real life car. What's more, this model requires the same maintenance and service like you're the owner of a normal truck.
There are various methods of powering hobby-grade RC trucks. They may be electrically, petrol or even nitro powered. Taking a decision which one to choose is not that easy. All the versions have their pros and cons that should be carefully thought over. For instance, an electrically powered radio controlled truck will be lighter that a petrol run one, but the first will be slower than the last one. Anyway, these cars are so intricate, that any enthusiast can transform his electric car into a petrol one, or vice versa, with no particular efforts.
What is so special about hobby-grade radio controlled trucks that attracts attention of thousands of men of all ages to them? In general, it's their complexity. It's not a toy, it's actually a real life vehicle, but very small. Besides, these RC cars can be used for racing and what man would refuse to be a racer? It is much more fun than computer games, that is the reason why RC trucks are so attractive to big boys.
Evidently, RC trucks are a lot of fun. But nevertheless keep in mind that it will require a lot of maintenance, repair and even upgrading. So this hobby is not cheap, but it's a truly unforgettable experience. |
