| If you’re new to Multi-Level Marketing, or MLM, as it is more frequently known, is the sale of a product or service, person to person, away from a retail location, individually or through a personal sales organization. So, in plain English, it is when a product is sold by a team of independent distributers. The commission structure is tiered, and therefore, rather than focus on selling products, the way to boost your commissions is to recruit a downline of people that you receive commissions on everything that they sell.

There are a few things to take note of before embarking on your MLM career:
1. When choosing an MLM program, you should be wary of MLM plans that promise big earnings with little or no efforts, especially if such promises are accompanied by a guaranteed return on investment. MLM programs that offer commissions gained only by recruiting new members into the plan are generally outlawed. Choose one with a product that you really like and think that you could sell, or persuade others to sell for you.
2. Building your network of partners and clients takes time and for many it takes too long. Especially considering you almost never get any up-front money or stable income from MLM business ventures in the beginning stages. Therefore, be prepared to work hard in the beginning, without sometimes seeing large rewards immediately. If you persevere however, and consistently take action, then MLM can yield large commissions.
3. Find a n MLM system to follow that will help you to leverage the internet to recruit massive downlines as quickly as possible. This will be the easiest and fastest way to succeed, and will allow you the flexibility to work from home, whenever you want.
